Clover Leaf personnel perform DOE-focused Safety Basis in all program areas including Work Planning & Control; Authorization Basis; Performance Assurance; Nuclear Readiness Reviews; USQ . 10 CFR 830, Subpart B, Safety Basis Requirements, contains the Safety Nuclear requirements for the development and approval of the facility safety basis Policy and ES&H that provides the basis for authorization to operate a DOE Hazard Category 1, 2, and 3 nuclear facility.

Clover Leaf has a highly experienced team of project managers and technologists to help ensure asbestos and lead-containing materials are managed to protect individuals and maintain regulatory compliance. We are experts at managing asbestos in-place, as well as representing owner risks in managing asbestos or lead abatement projects. We also perform the waste management for these materials in the workplace to maintain disposal requirements.

Clover Leaf has performed over 2000 Occupational Exposure Assessments (OEAs) for our various governmental and commercial clients. We follow the AIHA “Strategy for Assessing and Managing Occupational Exposures”. Because we are extremely experienced with these assessments, we are able to effectively:
 

• Evaluate the health and safety of operations

• Define where monitoring is required

• Determine the need for exposure control methods or recommend improvements to existing controls

• Provide clear documents that demonstrate compliance with mandated regulations
   

Clover Leaf has beryllium (Be) experience to support validation of Be data. Be-related work and waste operations subject to the DOE Chronic Beryllium Disease Prevention Program Rule. Clover Leaf has Q-cleared CIHs support to deal with Be-related issues at DOE facilities.

We support the following initiatives:
 

• Beryllium Extent of Condition (EOC) information collection and sampling surveys

• Assistance with developing Be Field Validation Forms and Be Hazard Assessment Forms

• Field verification, data entry and management of Be databases
   

A big part of what we do is oversight of construction projects to ensure the safety of job sites is established and maintained throughout the course of the project. We have a large contingent of health and safety professionals that excel on construction sites and work as teammates with the crafts to build strong safety performance. We can work on small commercial projects or large, heavily scrutinized government-funded projects.

Regardless of the visibility of the project, we pride ourselves on bringing skilled expertise to keep work underway in the safest manner possible.

We provide environmental compliance services across a wide array of subject areas. From spill plan development to air permitting support services, we have capabilities throughout the environmental regulatory space. In all our sectors across our company, we utilize visibility in the workplace to build awareness of requirements and policies.

We simplify and highlight key aspects of program compliance and make them visible in the workplace through job cards, signage and awareness training.

We provide independent oversight of nuclear facility development and implementation at DOE National Laboratories. Assisting in the development and planning and for the design, regulatory basis as well as operation for new reactor research facilities. We provide the technical support to reactor safety initiatives and for the incorporation of nuclear criticality safety hazard controls into nuclear facilities.

We have also provided technical support to the DOE Tritium Focus Group.

We provide operational health physics support for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) operations at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). We provide leadership in radiological controls for nuclear operations. Responsible for documenting adequate radiological controls in Radiological Work Permits (RWPs) and Radiological Safety Plans, as well as oversight and direction to ongoing radiological operations at this location.

Clover Leaf provides professionals with active security clearances that have the experience in the DOE Complex for nuclear-related program support, from program scheduling with Earned Value Management and Primavera Risk Analyst tools, to core-trained RCTs.
